The principles of the firm are Neil Atkinson and Jacqui Mellor-Jones. Both Neil and Jacqui have a wealth of experience in advising businesses and individuals on a wide range of issues.

Neil Atkinson - Chartered Accountant

Neil qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 having trained with an international firm of CA's. After a period of time in industry, he returned to practice and founded Atkinson & Co in November 1987. Neil has experienced the full joys of running a professional accountancy practice and can relate to both the good and bad experiences in business on a personal level. Neil considers his role within the firm to be the provision of sound business advice and the formatting of policies for individual clients, in order to minimise their tax burdens.

Jacqui Mellor-Jones - Chartered Accountant

Jacqui came into accountancy after completing a commission in the Royal Air Force, where she attained the rank of Flight Lieutenant. She qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers and Lybrand, one of the then big 6 firms, gaining experience in both their small business and general practice departments, before transferring to their Stuttgart office for 3 years. After a maternity break she joined Atkinson and Co in 2006, becoming a director in 2008. Jacqui has a particular interest in tax and a strong belief in the value and importance of excellent client service, to which she is committed.
